Sorry that I keep asking on here, presently have a Range Rover L322, did have a R8 V10 spyder until last Friday, looking at a replacement for the R8. Do I go RS4/RS5 convertible, XKR SLK Or SL or TVR or another R8, heart says another R8 brain says save the money and chose something cheaper will be keeping the RR as my daily

I went R8 V8 to 981 Boxster and couldn't be happier. Obviously a big step down in power if you did the same, but the 981 at 330bhp or so is plenty quick enough for me to enjoy fast, sweeping B-roads.

The R8 beats the Boxster in most way (supercar looks, better handling and steering feel (yes, really), more power, V8, etc.).

But as a complete package I prefer the Porsche. And the official and unofficial owners drive outs and meets are brilliant.

My experience of fast Audi's is lots of power but no steering feel or feedback, which puts me off.

Your budget would get you a lovely 987.

It depends on what you want from your convertible if you want a fast GT with some theatre then I'd say the SLK55 AMG is a cracking choice:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206297...

More relaxed 5.5 SL500:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202210170...

Now if you want something sportier then the V10 M6 is a very hard car to look past but do your checks:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202207308...

Z4M but as above do your checks:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202206156...

The more sensible Z4 35is is a very good car which is a bit more modern & no less lacking in go:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202209260...

TT RS roof off with a 5 pot warble smile

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202207258...

If you'd prefer 4 seats then the RS4 would edge it over the V8 M3 for me:

If heart says another R8 why did head not say keep the one you had ;-) ?

TBH there is not a lot in common with those cars above other than not having a roof.
I'm not usually a fan of Audis but the RS5 Cab is a lot of car for the money if you want a less hardcore experience than the R8 but keep the AWD. A TVR might need a change in driving style from the R8.

Also a Maserati Grancabrio is worth considering for the visual and aural rewards.

If you're keeping the RR as a daily, then go proper "balls out" and get something really special feeling/raw - Caterham.

Or, slightly less mental and get a VX220, for that budget you'll get a great one, probably supercharged (the best option) and to be honest, I doubt you'll have a more fun or better bang for your buck car than that.
