Am I making the right choice here?

Hi everyone, just a few questions if I may.
I have been trying to decide between an Audi TT S Line 2 litre (2015 with 45k miles) or a Mini JCW hatch (2016 with 30-35k miles on the clock)
I felt like I had finally made my decision to go with the TT I have seen one locally but still have the Mini JCW temptation.
(I'm a 35 year old male where practically and overall comfort are less important)
Am I making the right choice going with the TT? Could the TT potentially depreciate a little less over the next few years than the JCW especially with a new Mini generation coming out and no more TT's.
All thoughts welcome.

I don't think there's a right or wrong choice.
These are both cars on my extensive list along with a GT86, MX5RF, M235i, Abarth 595 and another Fiesta ST. All have significant merits and at least one flaw.
From research I'd want a TT to be an S line quattro dsg. These things are what make the Audi stand out to me and I think it would be a more capable daily than the JCW Mini. But it's quite possible that the Mini would be more fun.
Test drives are in order. That's the only way you'll know. But I don't think either will be a bad car at the end of the day. Forget about depreciation as well, nobody knows what's happen with that in the next few years but I can't imagine there being a huge difference between the two.

Can't imagine a 2015 JCW Mini being at all crappy.
Your budget might hold the answer. If I remember from a previous thread it was about 15k? For that I'd go with the Mini. To get an S line TT quattro you'd need maybe 16 or 17k. The fwd manual may well be fine but I've read that most people prefer quattro and dsg. It must get the power down as 0-60 is listed at 5.1 which is over a second quicker than the Mini with similar bhp.

Yeah that's my current budget Chris, unfortunately the quattro is out of budget so with the TT it would only be the fwd in my budget.
Test driving both seems the sure fire way to decide for sure.
Friends and family generally advise the TT looks better but I just find myself drawn to the Mini too so thought some neutral outside perspective would prove invaluable.

My final shortlist was a 4wd s-line TT and the M235i. I wrote off the Mini as I saw it as a slower and less practical BMW to the M235i (I know they’re two completely different cars on paper but I meant in the real world of daily driving). I figured there are plenty of years left to drive a 2 litre 4 cylinder TT before EV takes over and any BMW 6 cylinder in 2025 onwards is going to be either a very expensive M car or a leggy version of what you could buy and enjoy today!

It's always good to have lots of options! I've been looking at some similar cars to you (not the TT though as I need half decent back seats). The BMWs do have a great engine, but the interior is a touch dull. I like the minis fun looks and small size, but it's only a 4 pot, saying that the JCW sounds pretty good. pb8g09 said:

On paper you're completely correct with the M235i over the Mini. I think the TT and the M235i are both nicer classier cars than the JCW yet I find myself drawn to it

Very true, but as I don't change cars too often it feels like such a big decision! What cars are you swaying towards if you are on the lookout for a similar vehicle? Yeah the M235i is a very interesting shout. It does I find myself drawn to the JCW but I'm not sure. I can't help but think the JCW could more heavily depreciate compared to the other two models mentioned with the new generation dropping next year?
Or do you expect the depreciation to similar across them all? I generally keep my cars a few years and would like it to retain at least some value when I come to resell.

I've also been looking at the Audi S1, the 4wd interests me a bit. The mini is my favourite so far though,followed by the M135i. The BMW and Audi look a bit boring on the inside which puts me off.
