Selling through WBAC/ motorway

I will selling my 5 year old i3 in a month or so.

It has a proper scratch on the drivers door, about 3cm long, it’s through the paint but as the door skin is plastic so no rust.

What sort of knockback will the buying companies put on their valuation, would it be worth it to get the scratch dealt with before selling?

Considerable.

Buy some touch up paint and fill it/polish it, or pay a professional such as Chips away.

I wouldn't go near wbac. I took a Volvo V70 to them and 4 tiny stone chips on the front lower valance and they said £400 off. It was bizarre the car was immaculate but I imagine he was tasked with finding something of a certain percentage. I drove away.

There are other sites. Wizzle that after the listing offer deadline came kept on increasing their offer.

WBAC knocked £150 off their £39,000 offer on my M4 which had a few marks on it. It was a very positive experience. Sold it to a dealer for more though.

WBAC allow you to add this on the detailed appraisal before you go, so you can see whether or not it’s worth repairing.

WBAC are pretty fair in what they knock off IME. I did however sell them an immaculate car in 2021 and the bloke was determined to find something and couldn't. He was going on about watermarks in the paint and all sorts of cobblers. He gaev up in the end. Good experience for me.
