What estate car £11k max?

Morning,
I usually know exactly what car I want when it comes to changing but this time im not as sure. I do around 10k miles a year and dont commute so this is outside of work stuff. Never sit in stop start traffic its mostly motorway or fast A and B roads.
I have previously bought older High mileage stuff and gradually worked my way through it replacing suspension bits and generally bringing them back up to scratch. Ive never spent more than 5k on a car in fact.
I currently have a 2002 V70 2.4t (petrol) with 165k on it. Im getting a bit tire of tinkering with it and would like Something more modern which I can keep for 5 year minimum and hopefully not have to faff around with as much which is getting boring to be honest!
I want an estate as it suits my lifestyle (put mountain bike in the back, golf clubs, camping gear etc) and have up to £11k to spend
Ive been looking at E350cdi's and newer V70's and would prioritise comfort over sportiness although would like some power! So probably Avantgarde or SE Lux over AMG line or R Design
Ive also been looking at newer Passats, the 2.0 SE Business as they seem good value and cheap to run and are the newest of the cars ive been considering (2016 plate with 90 to 100k on)
There are very few petrol models in the cars im looking at so going to have to get diesel realistically. Are modern EGR and DPF systems generally reliable now considering my driving is mostly lonher A or B and motorway roads?
Am I missing anything obvious car choice wise? I dont like Fords or Vauxhalls they just dont appeal.
What else would you suggest? Even if its a 'ive got one of these and its great' type post!

I don’t have much experience in this area to give any advice or even what to look for as a used buyer.
However Mazda 6 estates seem really good value and I think they look brilliant with a nice interior.

I came on to say Mazda6 as well. Just sold mine earlier this year and don't believe you can get much better for the money.
I'd suggest a Sport Nav from 2017 on (they had a very minor update in late 2016). Heated power seats, heated steering wheel, HUD, cameras, sensors, power mirrors, etc. The 2.2d came in 150 and 175hp variants. The 175 remaps fairly easily to around 230

How about something a bit different, the Kia Optima. A very underrated car and have a touch of SAAB about the styling. You could pick a well specced 2017/18 car in budget. Friend has a later petrol car and loves it, said hes going to keep it as long as he can.

This example is a bit more than 11k but I have seen some with similar mileage go for 12k.

If you're looking for something that just runs from one service/MOT to the next go Japanese. Petrol preferably especially now there's a such big difference between the cost of petrol and diesel.
We've had a series of cars in the family including various Audis, Vws, BMWs etc and they all suffer from niggly issues from time to time once they're more than a few years old. Our old Accord meanwhile just goes on almost flawlessly.
The Accord or Mazda 6 (in petrol form) would br my choices.

The mk8 Accord handling was pretty well regarded by road testers so it certainly shouldn't handle like a boat unless there's something wrong with it.
I've always found Accords decent to drive - almost like Peugeots used to be in a controlled flowing way rather than hard and crashy like a lot of German cars.
