BMW M340i Saloon

I'm planning to get an M340i to keep long term and want some advice on what to prioritise. The max I have kept a car before is 3 years but hoping this will last 6+.
I want a non-Mild Hybrid Technology model as these do not have regenerative braking. I took a test drive in a MHT version and under heavy braking it felt like there was nothing there for 2/3 of the pedal travel until the brakes were applied. Certainly worse than the brakes on my current F series 430d which has the standard brakes (not M Sport). The latest of the non MHT models is around Sep 2020. The earliest models are around March 2019.
This is a car I basically plan to keep for as long as possible. I have the BMW extended warranty on my current 430d which I think can be kept for 10 years or 100k miles and I plan to take this out the M340i. Annual mileage varies with work. For the last few years I have worked permanently from home and averaged 6k miles per year. I do plan to do some longer road trips in the M340i and possibly a couple of track days a year. Any commuting for work is expensed.
I know this is subjective but what is the sweet spot for buying and keeping long term in terms of age and mileage? Price isn't an issue and they range from £34k for 35k miles to £40k+ for 10k miles but do want to try and buy to keep for as long as possible and minimise depreciation. Spec must have HUD and electric seats. They come as standard with adaptive suspension and M Sport diff. I will be almost certainly buying from BMW as an approved used car.

If your spending that sort of money you might as well go the full M3 or M4 route.
It’s better in every way, depreciates slower and is more special. Fuel economy will even be the same as the M340i is a thirsty beast.

£35-40K get you a 2018 with 25K miles. As long as you service it you’ll easily get another 10 years out of it as the one linked would only have 80K miles.
I can’t see time being favourable to the M-lites where you don’t get specialness of the real Ms but you get the running costs.
