Nissan Juke for my mother
Discussion
Hi folks,
Wondering about peoples thoughts on them in general? She currently has a 58 reg Mini Clubman. 2 medium sized dogs. Just potters around town and for walks etc.
This has become a bit unreliable, she’s just dropped a few hundred on a new radiator and service and the cooling fan is still playing up. Therefore in the logic-free world of my mother, it must go.

1.6 Tekna, manual, 22k. No idea re previous owner or SH yet.
She likes this. I’ve had a look externally and it looks good. 2 brand new Conti tyres on back etc…
Anything to look out for/check?
Cheers

My dad is on his 2nd [1st written off while parked]
its Ok for what my dad needs but the boot is NOT very big, the rear seats folw down not flat so not sure if that would work for the dogs, my dad likes the fact he steps up in to it, he has a 1.2 something and it goes ok for town driving

Haha, thanks all.
I’m a little skeptical about room for dogs too, we are going to see it tomorrow so I’ll get her to bring the woofers!
Sadly she is a bit of a car snob so I don’t think the Dacia will cut it
Really? I wouldnt have put Nissan further up the desirability/credibility chart than Dacia.I’m a little skeptical about room for dogs too, we are going to see it tomorrow so I’ll get her to bring the woofers!

My own Mother will be in a similar position soon as her Nissan Note is getting on, I think the Dacia Duster and Suzuki Vitara as above are great shouts, Skoda Yeti and Kia Soul are other contenders for a similar type/size of vehicle.
I'll echo what others have said, I've been in a Juke and the very first thing I noticed was how cramped it was. I do think the Vitara would be a better choice for dogs, but for the driver the Juke looks very well specced, the Vitara looks pretty basic, if that sort of thing matters to your Mum, I do like a well equipped car personally.
Inlaws had a Juke and as others have stated the boot space and interior space is very cramped, their spaniel had to sit up front to fit in, so 2 medium dogs will be a stretch.
We had a Qashqai and that was the same, seems a big car until you try to load it up and realise the boot space is an awkward shape so not much fits, we always felt our fiesta had a bigger boot as its a more square space.
Inlaws have swapped to a Ford Kuga and love it, not much bigger than the juke and similar size to a qashqai, drives nicer and spaniel has his crate in the boot as it fits now over being strapped in and rolling around the back seat.

Well, she still likes it. Dogs fit with the seats down which she’s happy with.
It’s currently on 22k miles, registered Jan 19. Dealer can’t find any service history. He’s currently making and enquiry with Nissan.
Should have had at least one service in that time, surely? Mother isn’t bothered, but I’m holding out a bit!
