Golf Gti performance or Golf R 7.5 ?

Is there much in it in fuel costs between the 2 I’m looking to run the car daily .

Not really, for the sake of a few mpg I'd just get the one you want.

I've had a mk7 gti pp manual and a mk7.5 r.

I'd say the manual gti was more fun. The r is a better and faster car, but it's just a bit easy

Over 40,000 mixed mileage I've averaged 33.47 mpg (5 door manual)
