Estate choices

I am in the market for a new car and was initially looking into a Volkswagen Arteon 2.0 TSI R 5dr 4MOTION DSG, however after doing a bit of research, Matt from carwow got me looking at a BMW M340i Touring. I've owned a 3 series touring in the past and did love it....

Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on these choices and what extras/packages should I be looking at / are important for the BMW?

You should ask the mods to move this to the bmw sub forum, much experience there.

My neighbour test drove the Arteon R estate, he really liked it but remember him saying the MPG was atrocious sub 30mpg.

He went the new BMW 320d instead and no regrets. A 340i would be another step up.

Maybe consider an S4 Avant.
