Which means everyday comfort, convenient and reliable (relatively).
Similar budget.
Decent to drive.
V8.
Non-turbo and manual ideally, but will consider talented alternatives to those two criteria.
Mpg/daily running costs less of a concern, obvs.
Ideally a production model, but open to proven engine swaps too, as long as electrical integration is also proven/fairly straightforward. Can be an older model with updated running gear, eg: W123 estate with LS?
Suggestions on a postcard please.

The Sportbrake body was only ever sold as XFR-S spec and never as the cheaper, more plentiful XFR. Can we assume you know this and thus the "similar budget" part is circa £30k the typical XFR-S (in either body style) attracts rather than the standard XFR saloon which can be had for half that?
E63 estate I guess ? C63 maybe not big enough ?

Also, there are sub M/RS/XFR models in most of those ranges, unless you really need 500 bhp plus maybe 550i estate, E500, S6 and that kind of thing ?
There are some fast Volvos, but never seem to be quite on the same level, skewed more to the pleasingly brisk but sensible rather than full on bloody and thunder.
Engine swaps and daily I suppose can go together but often ends up a bit never finished unless very well done.
