Hi folks,

My wife is looking for a new car and has her heart set on a CLA 200d model from local dealership. I will have it one or two days a week so I'm a bit unsure whether it will be a big of a let down engine wise (134bhp)

Any experience of these?

Looking on Autotrader suggests the '200' is the 2.1 diesel (not the tough as old boots Renault 1.5).

My brother had an E-class estate with that engine in it (with a few extra horses) and it seemed plenty enough poke for normal driving.

I'd not expect the CLA to be a hot hatch but should easily 'keep up with traffic' especially if it is the auto.

(Don't forget that a 140bhp diesel is a totally different prospect to a 140bhp petrol due to the extra torque).

Sorry for clarity it's a Sep 2015 Mercedes CLA-Class CLA 200 [2.1] CDI Sport 4dr with 50,000 miles on it.

Thanks for that.

Beautiful looking motor but it's just underneath the bonnet that puts me off.
