Got potential buyer coming tomorrow but old address on v5!

Hi, I've just moved house a month ago and selling my car.

Got someone coming tomorrow and is very interested to take the car away however just realised I haven't yet updated the address on my V5.

Is there anyway I can continue with the sale if the buyer is comfortable or do I have to postpone the sale until my V5 is updated?

If buyer is okay with it then nothing to stop the sale. If I was the buyer I would be quite wary though.

I'd imagine if you can explain what happened and show evidence that the address on the V5 was actually your previous address that would be enough reassurance for most normal people.

This. Fetch out a bank statement or something to show you were resident at the old address

Exactly this…simple to explain and prove. The service history would probably have the same address as the previous proof.

Thanks all for your responses.

I was concerned from a legal/DVLA perspective if there would be any complications in doing so.

As others have mentioned I can definitely prove my previous address and yes my Drivers licence has been updated to the new address
