Vehicle swapped plates with another for two months

Hi all
Looking for a bit of advice/thoughts on a vehicle I was previously keen on buying. Have run a check and there's something odd with the registration place history.
For background, the vehicle i want to buy is a black 5 series. It's listed as having 2 owners, with the previous being BMW. I've viewed the car and the explanation was that the guy bought it from the dealership who were the previous "BMW" owners. I assume used as a dealership car for whatever reason. I have no reason to doubt this.
My concern is that the plates on the car were swapped for that of another black 5 series for the period of two months before being swapped back. Neither plate is "cherished", both are standard LLNN LLL type registrations
Car 1 (the car i'd like to buy) was first registered on 23/10/17 with the plates changed to that of car 2 (another black 5er, first registered on 24/01/2018) on 06/08/2018 and both reverting 16/10/2018). I believe the car i want to buy was still in the ownership of the dealer at the time of the change.
Anyone got any thoughts as to why this might have been done? Feels very dodgy, but it could be that there was a reason the dealership made the changes. Thanks all in advance
