Had a contract hire a few times and it was ok.

BMW m5 deal in 2013
Decent price on a q7.

Paid the excess mileage and all was well.

Been driving for the last couple of years with cars paid for . My 4x4 is 13 years old and ready for auction with 150+k.

I have been mulling over :

Discovery commercial , as I have a ltd I can put down the VAT and pay the monthlies. Issue is need to find SDV6 from 2019 onwards with rear seats added. They do exist but 40-50 plus vat and generally not low miles.

So cost to the business is 800 plus a month ,forgetting the VAT.

Next option was an EV. I do a 190 round trip twice a week. So in the currently 3.0d is costing me £100 a week at least with other driving.

So from a purely financial assessment the model Y (not keen on that front end but..) is pretty good value . I can charge for free at work. Ideally need something bigger for dogs hence discovery.

The new car is appealing, and less than the discovery payment, albeit own nothing after a 2 or 3 year deal. You can get one for minimal downpayment and 700 ish a month with the ability to reclaim half the VAT.

Thoughts?
