Fast Petrol Saloon, circa 20k-ish

Hi Folks,
Currently in a 2009 Jaguar XF-S Diesel. The things I like about it are:
- Previous owner had it remapped; 325Hp and 700-ish Nm of torque. It's really not too sluggish!
- It's a squishy barge on the motorway; I'm doing 15k a year or so of lots of motorway runs. A 4-hour drive is pretty effortless
- Lots of toys which still seem rare or seldom-optioned even on much newer cars (e.g. BMW F11 5 series); heated/cooled/memory seats, blind spot monitor, parking camera, lovely stereo.
- Not unreasonable on fuel, it'll flirt with 55mpg if I cruise at 70-ish.
- If I'm on an A or B road, it has a decent turn of pace if I want to, and it's not unreasonable in terms of handling; better than the Volvo S60 which preceded it. I'm not about to set records at the Nurburgring, but I certainly lean in the direction of comfort and the ability to breeze past someone dawdling at 40. Or, as was the case the other night, to have a bit of a grin on my face as I drove the Woodhead pass toward the end of my journey home!
However, it's old, it's Euro 5 (I'm often in London). The dildo of consequences rarely arrives lubed, and it is a 14 year-old executive car: the most recent bill was £1.1k for a replacement DPF, and that's not an outlier in terms of the bills it has thrown my way. There's a scary list of stuff in the 'common faults' owners club forum Buyers Guide threads for one of these cars which I've not yet had to fix on mine, so those are hovering over my head like the sword of damocles.
Long story short, on paper it ticks a lot of boxes, but I'm looking at what to get instead. I'm awful at deciding what to do, and am pretty stuck with decision paralysis. I'm I should move to just plain old Petrol. I'm happy to switch to electric. But, at £20k-25kish, the only real option to match the motorway drives I do would likely be a sheddy old Tesla S; wonder if that'd require more brave pills than an old Jaaaag? I also rarely have more than me and one passenger in the car, so going to 2-seats shouldn't be a problem.
So, my current short-ish list of ideas is:
- G11 740i; lots of toys, comfy, BMW i6 petrol, better optioned than most 5-series
- Jaguar XJR or XJ petrol? (perhaps as a sort of last hurrah of ICE for me; especially if I just double-down on bravery and get the V8)
- Tesla S? Maybe? Perhaps a spartan cabin, and the ones I can afford will have no warranty
- Jaguar F-Type V6S - perhaps not so fun on the motorway; would that be a terrible choice for me wanting mostly comfort? I'd gladly sacrifice b-road weaponry for not having a shredded lower back.
Am I being really thick here? Thicker than the 'consequences' stick I mentioned earlier? Any ideas, suggestions, or abuse that's thinly-veiled as being character-building is welcomed!

A remap will see you at nigh on 63bhp but without the AMG tax you'll have all the comfort & pace you can ask for, then when the sun comes out you can drop all the windows away/open the roof & it's like having a convertible with none of the drawbacks.

Guilia Veloce is worth a look. Lovely cars inside and out I would have gone for one recently if it sounded better, but they're meant be cracking to drive. I believe they come with adaptive cruise as standard, so a nice-to-have considering your mileage.

Oh that's a lovely idea; I was indeed looking at a v8 Merc of some sort; they really do tick the 'squish' box. Indeed - this was where I started out on the search (alongside the 440i, too!). But they really do seem spartan on spec; one with pro-nav, the HK audio, heated seats seems to be a pretty rare thing..! This is why I escalated up to the 740i; taking the slight performance hit of the extra weight, but getting big squishy seats... and they're not too bad on price..!Another option is the Maserati Ghibli in either S form:
