Is BCA open to private buyers again?
Discussion
As a word of warning, only about 10% of the traditional flow of cars are going through auctions, prices are sky high and can be more than forecourt with buyers fees, certainly more than private purchases. Plus you cannot see or hear them running and are subject to their inspections being accurate.
Id not touch anything from a dealer group or WBAC due to the risk of issues present, whilst MB / BMW etc can pretty much defleet all their cars straight in to their dealer network.
Buy privately would be my advice

Thanks for all the advice!
There's not many private sales for ~20k SUV type cars though, so I thought I'd try & see if I could cut out the middle man
- never mind, the search goes on.
Ads now split between Autotrader, fb marketplace, gumtree - with a sensible approach its still the best way to find a decent car from a responsible owner, we managed a VW Up and a VW Corsa - both 1 owner with full main dealer service history and agreed on prices for both about £300 more than WBAC.There's not many private sales for ~20k SUV type cars though, so I thought I'd try & see if I could cut out the middle man
