2013 mercedes E class coupe and A class hatchback

I am currently looking at buying a Mercedes probably a 2013 model. I like the E class coupe but the interior/cockpit of the A class of the same year seems a little bit more modern. Looking at the infotainment system of the E class at first I thought it was more dated than the A class infotainment but upon closer inspection it seems the same, in which case I would sway more towards the E-class. Can anyone tell me whether they are the same and if the infotainment system is any good?

I had a 2014 A class . The infotainment system was very basic from memory and the radio was crap.The sat nav was an external plug in Tom Tom type device!
I remember the mk7 Golf that replaced it being in a different league for functionality.
