What car - £30-£35k
Discussion
Currently drive a CLA220 but fancy a change. Not sure what car to go for.
I can go up to £35k, with the car being used for a mix of London / Birmingham journeys to visit family (1 every 2 weeks or so) and will need to have a boot to fit the golf clubs.
Have been thinking of switching to a Tesla, given prices on EVs are plummeting but the cost saving vs electric cost is giving me second thoughts.
Do want something with some poke, so has to be at least 250bhp. Have considered the likes of a 330i but it seems a little boring in the grand scheme of things.
Open to some suggestions, but I do have a preference for the vehicle to be at least a 19/20 plate.

Wholesale electricity prices have fallen, I suspect these will start to feed through into the prices we pay sometime in the next 12 months

So I would still see an EV as working out cheaper providing most of your charging is at home.

£35k will get you a nice Model 3 performance. Reasonable levels of get up and go.
Tesla supercharger prices now back down to 39 / 40p per kWh, down from a few weeks ago.
Get yourself an Octopus night rate of c.7.5p, and it should be good.
I did look at these but the insurance is coming out at £2.5k!!!Tesla supercharger prices now back down to 39 / 40p per kWh, down from a few weeks ago.

Approved used IPace are down at this price now. 400hp, good cabin space, lovely thing.
They are lovely, but offer poor range and charging speeds though? If considering a Model 3 your best bet is the LR OP. Plenty quick enough, cheaper to insure than the Performance, more efficient, better ride quality and you'll get a 21MY facelift car with the extra kit and heatpump within budget.

You must be very light footed to get that kind of MPG
The newer bi turbo engines are remarkably economical for the performance available.Town driving is about 22-24 - motorway driving is around 30. 33 is achievable with cruise control set to 65.
I used to get worse mpg out of my ep3 civic
