Waiting for new corsa
Discussion
Six months ago I put an order in at my local Vauxhall dealership for the new Corsa and was told I should have the car in three to four months. Still nothing. The guy I've been dealing with told me week before last that it will be delivered by 4th or 5th of July at the very latest. He also told me on the 29th of June that the car had now arrived at the port and so is in the UK. I phoned up on the 4th of July to see if it had arrived at the dealership only to be told by the person on the phone that the guy I've been speaking to is now on holiday for 10 days and that they can't even give me a delivery date. Just that it should come sometime this month. What does everyone think about this? Do you think he was lying about the car being in the country? It's been 9 days now after all since supposedly arriving in UK and still hasn't arrived at the dealership. How long after arriving in the country does it take for a car to get delivered to the dealership? Was he just stringing me along? I don't know wether to just wait it out or pull out of the deal. Anyone else experienced something like this?

Delivery dates can change for a variety of reasons... sometimes it's as frustrating for the sales guys as us it for you. If however he's gone in holiday, you'd hope somebody is covering his deals in his absence.
Have you spoken to anybody else at the dealership or given this is Pistonheads, why not have a word with the DP as you're teeing off together?
Plot twist... the guys at the port pranged it and it's in the queue for the local fix a dent man to address before they send it...

Absolutely bananas that people are waiting six months for a Corsa! A few years ago larger dealer groups would have a job lot of them parked up somewhere ready to be registered.

Back in August 2021 I placed an order for a new VW Tiguan to replace my then current Arteon the following March. It never arrived. A year later in March 2023 it still hadn’t arrived. I was then advised the car would be built at the end of April 2023. A few weeks later I was told it was built and on the way to the U.K. Spool forward to now, 23 months later and I still don’t know when this car will arrive and nor does the dealer.

Jesus christ that is bad. This is what I'm worried about as I've read a lot of similar stories online.Brooky90 said:

He will be doing his very best to get this car delivered to you so that he can earn his 'bonus', and from the looks of it, you out of his life.

So something doesn’t seem right Loads of logistical issues both in the UK and on the continent, it's the way currently, I can only dream of any car I've got on order arriving with me at the dealership within 9 days of it arriving into the UK, when things were running smoothly it was around 2 weeks, now it tends to be "whenever" it's a nightmare at the moment, we have a live update system which gives dates on when a car is scheduled to be delivered, it's always wrong and always changes, it just cannot be relied upon at all.
All car manufacturers are having issues, TBH all industries are, you aren't being strung along, it's just generally crap at the moment, expectations probably should have been better managed by the dealer though.

I suspect that there's plenty of extra demand from people who would've otherwise bought a Fiesta (and who don't want an SUV / crossover).C69 said:

Probably - no offence to the OP but it was always one of those cheap white goods vehicles where you'd order on one Saturday and pick it up the next. Personally, if it was suggested I needed to wait more than 3-4 weeks for delivery I'd walk away. Times have changed!Grumps. said:

It will have been a cancelled order, there’s no way on earth a Tiguan factory order is coming that quickly, even a base spec
When I first ordered the car he originally said it will arrive in august, I ordered the ‘elegance’ trim level in nightshade blue. After I had ordered he did say other colours were taking longer to come through and that most people were ordering black.I have no idea how it works but it was a new build slot and not a cancelled order as I could have chosen any colour.

Why, is the latest model really bad? I've not driven one, what is it like?
No its not bad at all. In fact it's a nice little car, I have driven extensively the 1.2 petrol and is a decent car.People just hate based on the fact they have this misconception of a car, which they have based upon due to having driven an old one 20 years ago.

It will be down to specs at a guess.
From what I have read over the past couple of years - its the lack of the Tiguan optional matrix lights components in particular that is the root cause of this delay.Anyway - its been built and I even have the car's VIN number via the dealers tracking system screenshot - just no idea when it will arrive!
