Morning all,

I'm hopefully going to look at a LCA at the weekend. Its a 2001 4.2D GX Manual, so theoretically very little to actually go wrong.

I know that the main enemy on these is rust, I'm informed it is pretty rust free having not been driven during the winter for the last 10 years or so. Nevertheless, if I do buy it I'll likely get it undersealed.

Anyway, as with any potential purchase, I've been researching trouble spots to look out for and can't really seem to find anything other than rust, and air suspension (which this doesn't have).
I'm aware the service and timing belt intervals are quite strict, but is there any other sort of hidden surprises or known faults with the engine/drivetrain? I'm told it is actually bus engine(!) and therefore good for interstellar mileage if maintained properly....

I'm coming from a 2016 Hilux but want to "downgrade" for a few reasons. I'm aware it won't be as refined to drive in comparison, but having started out in older Land Rovers I'm sure it's all relative....

Thanks in advance!
