Boring car alert - £20k, auto, reliable
Discussion
Hey folks
The parents-in-law need to probably get their last ever car. Still fully competent to drive (mid-70s) but arthritis is doing a number for getting in and out of low cars and manual gear boxes.
They have a budget of £20k or so, not a brand snob but priorities are:
- automatic
- cheap to run day to day, petrol as c.10k miles
- reliability
- ideally SUV in height
- would love android auto or apple play
I have an auto SUV but I am not sure a gas-guzzling 3 litre BMW is the right way forward - so have no knowledge at this end of the market.
I've done various filters on the usual suspects (before getting distracted by the shiny metal elsewhere..) but have absolutely no frame of reference for these.
Thanks folks!

Lexus UX250h, no looker but as long as they can live with CVT does everything they need.

CR-V ride height is such that you simply slide sideways into it, so no bending down or climbing up. Focuses on comfort. Easy to use transmission selector, simply press a button. Doors open to 90° for easy access. Mild hybrid, will run off electric when pulling away and lower speed driving.

Yep. This or a C-HR, budget will get a well specced 2.0 hybrid with sensible mileage. Keep up the servicing with Toyota dealers and the warranty runs up to 10 years/100000 miles.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202305307...
