End of lease charges

Has anyone got experience of end of lease charges when returning lease vehicles?
I've got a car to return and have to choose between getting the rims and a couple of parking scratches fixed but giving the car back late and putting an MOT and service on it. Or giving it back Friday and leaving the rims and parking scratches to the lease company but saving the MOT, service and extra lease costs.
Are the lease company repair charges as bad as I have heard or are they just a bit more than highstreet prices?
If they are just a "bit" more, say 15-20%, then it's quite marginal.

Yes I have a quote of 225 for the wheels and 200 for the bodywork. Question is how much will the lease company charge? I heard they can be up to double. One bodyshop that does a lot of insurance work quoted 1400 for the same work.Refurbing Alloys will not cost that much.

So you are looking at paying out more than £750 to give the car back late but perfect or you lose £1000 on its handback value and potentially dont have to pay anything out of your own pocket?blank said:
It is completely dependent on the lease company.
Some are shysters and will charge a fortune for non existent damage.
Others are incredibly lenient and charge very reasonable amounts, if anything, for minor damage.
Your company should be able to provide a pricing matrix if you ask.
It's Leasys. I asked about pricing and they don't have fixed prices. They said have to wait for the inspection. I have the standard wear and tear rules so I have a good idea of what needs doing, just not how much they would charge. Some are shysters and will charge a fortune for non existent damage.

More like £1200 to get the car back perfect but 2 weeks late. I have no idea what their charge will be on handing it back. That's the point of this thread.Check bvrla wear and tear policy - all lease companies use that as a standard for returns. If the vehicle value has held up well they likely won’t care about cosmetic issues, however if they’re underwater their only option is the claw back cash from end of lease charges.

Problem is the wheels guy cannot do it until 22nd August. It will cost me another £250 in lease and insurance costs to keep it for 2 weeks. There's a scuff on the underside of the left rear bumper behind the wheel where I reversed against a high kerb and a light scratch on the right front wheel arch. Bodywork guy is also booked out for at least 2 weeks. I think I'm just going to give it back to the lease co on Friday and take a chance on the costs.You might be surprised by what is deemed acceptable….
