Jeep Commander / Grand Cherokee
Discussion
Good evening,
Looking for a cheap, less than £4000, 4x4 for rubbish back lanes and fields.
Jeep products may be good. I know they are not up to European standards of finish but not the primary car.
Any thoughts? Barge pole or have a crack?
Lexus is the obvious thought but are the RX any good?
Thanks.

I have a Lexus RX and I love it, but I'm not sure I'd put it up against more deliberate off-roaders. It does have AWD but I suspect that decision is more about the hybrid system than anything to do with green laning.
That said, I did raise the car up on its air-suspension to get through some flood water the other day which is a bit off-roady
