Whats this scam about then?

They don’t exist, you can’t view it, you can’t collect it. Loads of people interested so you need to put a deposit down to be the one that gets it. They ship it to you and if you’re not satisfied you can send it back for a full refund. Sound too good to be true? That’s because it is.
My pal had this with a van. Very cheap, miles away but friendly seller. Was told someone had put a deposit on it but he could also put a deposit on in case first one fell through.
Was then told the van was his on the basis he could transfer all the money and collect Friday evening about 7.
He turned up - along with about 7 other people - at some poor woman's house who was nothing to do with it.
Because of the time between paying and collection plus being out of working hours he lost his money.
I will Caveat this chap is a lovely geezer but loves a drink so how true it all is I don't know.

Not one of the photos taken in the same place, and 14K for a 6 litre Aston, it’s surprising people fall for such scams, though they must to make it worth the effort of the scammer.
Greed and stupidity take over. Most knowledgeable people would do a little due diligence if a price seemed to good to be true, but many don’t. It’s akin to the people who buy a £1k+ handbag off eBay for £100 and then are somehow surprised that it’s not genuine.BERGS2 said:
