Selling my minty mk2 golf Gti , just had a right old convo with some bloke, he is happy with the price but wanting me to buy a report from carx.Ltd basic report £25 .. Obviously he doesn’t want the car ,told him I would take the fee off the asking price not too keen .Not a full on scam but old school money grab ?

It does look like some entrepreneurial spirit has thought up a way to earn some cash.

Tell him you will check with a well known, trustworthy vehicle check service, but do not trust that one as cannot find the company address on the website to confirm it is legitimately registered, trading and filing it's accounts.

Sounds dodgy to me. Offer to buy a Car Vertical or HPI check and see what he says.

Just found this thread from a quick google.

Seems this 'scam' is still going with the potential 'buyer' telling me if I have financial problems he will reimburse me the cost of the check at the time of purchase. Too funny...
