Car for wife

Hi,

We need to buy a car for my wife in the next couple of months so advice from the masses (to reduce the chance of my getting this wrong!) would be very much appreciated.

What we are looking for:
1. Petrol
2. Manual
3. It will likely be used predominantly for shorter journeys (5 miles each way) with a total annual mileage of 7,000
4. It needs to fit two teenagers in the back
5. Must be, as far as possible, reliable.
6. Focus-sized I think
7. Budget is up to 7,500.

Any chance of a Pre Purchase Inspection? would be handy to know if any squeaking occurs when bounced up and down…

I quite like the idea of the Hyundai. Anything else to consider? Are the i30s reliable?

But my first thought given the usage was a Renault Zoe.

Agree. OP says his budget is £7500 - this should stretch to an EV like a Zoe or a Leaf, probably a 2016 or 2017 car.
