Found these searching tonight for a cheap estate ( under £3k )

Of these 4 if you wanted a runaround only driving 4000 max a year which is reliable and the best value ?

Thought the 2.2 engine was suspect in the Vauxhall?

I would take the Honda Accord out of that lot.

Just checked on Google and it's a mixed bag for the omega , some say the 2.2 is frail , others used them as taxis
Also checked the accord mot..hasn't had one since Oct 23 and last one has loads of corrosion...

Without deep diving the accord or the omega but most probably the omega as it’s slightly smarter to my eye.

I suspect the Logan might be hanging around like a disgraced former drinking partner, when the others are just embarrassing memories.

I would check out the MOT history of each.
Most of them are on the 30% get scrapped each year spiral into motoring oblivion.

Probably true but when all you want is a dog carrying estate for less than £3500 that only does max 4000 miles a year and the kids can drive to their festivals once a year without breaking down you can't be choosy !

Out of the older cars I'd go Honda, had that shape some years ago and it was a great car with a huge boot. But for a cheap as chips reliable banger I'd be buying the Dacia (I have Logan MCV).

IIRC the Omega used a different engine to the 2.2 in the Astra / Vectra of the time which was known to be troublesome.

Accord for me. Doubt it would give you much trouble apart from rust but I assume that would be a factor for at least 3 of the cars above anyway.

Can't comment on the 1.2, I can't imagine performance will be it's strong point. Massive boot though.

Definitely the Dacia out of those 4. It has an excellent MOT history which suggests its been looked after and has plenty more years of life left in it...also basic so not much to go wrong and easy/cheap to fix if a part needs replacing in the future.

The Honda and Mitsubishi have 'interesting' MOT histories, I wouldn't touch either with a barge pole regardless of price....they are a whisker away from being scrapped IMO.

I'd be tempted by the Dacia purely because it is a decade newer than the rest.

If you only doing a few miles a year the higher mileage will return-to-the-mean after a while.

The Omega is perhaps the 'coolest' one, when did you last see one?

fk, what a miserable list. If i had to, it'd be the Dacia. If the Omega was a V6 then I'd think about it briefly. Would strongly consider a bus season ticket.

Honda out of those in the OP, least appealing for me is the Dacia.

I would most like to own the Omega out of that list.

Being sensible though, probably the Dacia as number as it's young, parts supply aplenty, less likely to have rust issues. It is simple modern car.

Then it would be the Honda for perceived reliablity but check for rot. Don't think i'd bother with the other one.

I'd still buy the Omega though.
