Modern Mercedes diesel reliability?

Hi guys,
I’m just back from holidays and seen many newer Merced’s being used as taxi, which made me consider that these must be quite reliable?

Does anyone have any experience of models and engines that are worth considering?

Like all diesels if your usage suits then you'll be fine, Mercedes had an issue with it's Adblue at one point but I haven't seen it affect a lot of cars as yet.

The engines are fine, it’s all the emission control systems that cause issues. The petrols are similar.
