Why do sellers of pretty high performance cars think it's beneficial to take photos of the cars in the middle of a shallow lake ?

I guess for a high-end car, its more appealing than a deserted multistory or half-parked on the pavement next to some wheelie-bins.

But but ,,, it's not hard to drive for a few mins & find a quiet lane, resulting in this:



vs driving the thing into a pond:



Surely saves a heap of time too.. not cleaning all the underside after.

You've just illustrated why they do it, the bottom one has a much bigger impact and infinitely more visually appealing.

Would have to disagree - I think the bottom one makes a gorgeous car look a bit st. I agree that's just my opinion but those pics are like nails on a blackboard to me.

Curiously, when PH recently photographed my car for auction, they didn't suggest the "lake" thing. Missed a trick there!!

I think it looks total ste in the middle of a pond. It's like an amateur school attempt at learning photography effects.

I prefer photos on normal tarmac and no photoshopped backgrounds either.
