Hi - my lease is coming to an end on my company car and I am considering replacing it with either Hyundai IONIQ5 Nline RWD or Genesis GV60 Premium RWD. They're both coming in at a similar price and both are practical for our family in terms of space etc.

I've seen a few GV60s around my area (Watford), so it peaked my interest.

I've test driven both models and Genesis felt a bit smoother on low speed rides over ridges / humps. Is that other people's assessment too, those who have maybe had the car longer?

My main concerns are that I've heard there has been a problem with the air filter on RHD cars - is that sorted now? Also, am a bit worried about after-sales support - reading other forums it doesn't sound like it's in good shape in UK yet?

Would be good to get views on whether I go for the brand I know well or whether I risk the GV60?

Isn’t the Genesis a step up in interior material quality?

The plastics put me off the ioniq5

Interior is nice! And a step up from I5 and EV6.

Given it's the same price on my company car scheme, am tempted..

As I say, my only concern is after-sales service and if anyone has had any issues with the car..

I’d go the GV60.

You’ll be under warranty so shouldn’t have any issues and will be a more quality product.

The GV60 is the pick they're a nicer place be the gubbins underneath is all Hyundai/Kia so the back up won't be an issue after sales they're going all out to make Genesis as accepted as Lexus.

How long before Hyundai dealers start taking on the servicing and repairs of older Genesis models?

I quite fancy a secondhand GV60. I understand that it comes with 5 years of warranty and servicing, and that Genesis will take it away to a service centre (which might actually be a Hyundai dealer).

What happens after 5 years though?
My nearest Genesis centre is 200 miles away in Bristol, but there's a decent Hyundai dealer 30 minutes from home.

It doesn't fill me with confidence, after what happened to Infiniti

My family & friends with Infiniti's have had no issues getting them serviced at Nissan main dealers, which imo is what they should've done at the start.

In 5 years time they'll be more dealers hopefully one less than 200 miles from you, as long as you have the service plan they'll still collect the car from you.

Think i am going to put an order down for the GV60. The interior is up there with the best in the market and it is also a decent drive. Also, am thinking Bicester (where cars get serviced currently) and I have a couple of Hyundai dealerships close to my house.

Genesis pick up the car and drop off a loaner when your car goes in for service I believe, if you ask for it of course.

If it's of any help, I've got the GV70 so can answer any questions you might have.

For cars first registered in 2024 onwards, the free car collection is limited to 30 miles from the Genesis service partner.
