Please help..

Wife's car has died this week. Replacement required urgently..

My knowledge on cars is poor and I'm finding it a minefield.

An Smax is the preferred due to 7 seats, space, good reviews etc.

Budget circa 8-9k

It can be used as little as 5k a year if just for wife's run-around - or I can take for a longer run once or twice a week to work if its a diesel.

Obviously drawn to the higher spec, but is higher mileage a killer, is higher mileage actually sometimes better as it shows the cars been driven?

Some of the ones we've been looking at.

Ideally need to sort something this weekend...

Many thanks to anyone who can assist!

Kind Regards

I wouldn't be tempted by an ex police car, having seen the way most are driven... you'll also fin numerous plugged holes in the dashboard.

Personally I'd rather go for a Volvo XC90, appreciate it would be the previous shape but in diesel format a much more reliable car.
Other options are the Sharan / Alhambra.

Maybe look at petrol cars for your low mileage?

What about a VW Touran 1.4 TSi?

£10k on an 8 year old ford that's driven nearly half way to the moon is just depressing

The Powershift autobox has a poor reputation. the 2.5 has a different box or the manual is good
