£7.5k Which Pickup?

I occasionally need 4WD to get around a few fields and move fence posts, barbed wire, bits of trees etc
I could do this with my current Jeep and a trailer but it's not ideal so I'm thinking about a pickup - also needs to do the school run and occasionally tow 3T
The choices seem to be a Ranger, Navara, HiLux or possibly Amarok
Ranger and Navara seem to have engine and chassis issues
Amarok I presume suffers with occasional but expensive VW issues
HiLux 3.0 seems the best option
Or I could do back to an F150 / Ram - but the 4WD are rare, LPG is getting harder to find and LHD isn't ideal
I don't do many miles, I generally run older vehicles and fix them myself
So HiLux 3.0 Auto ?

Mitsubishi L200, you'll get a newer vehicle than a Hilux, and they're more reliable than the Rangers and Navaras.
And it'll have Super Select 4WD which lets you run in 4wd on tarmac,

There will be about 3 Amaroks nationwide at that price, all will be Miley and well used. F that
The answer is probably the least rusty and knackered one you can find at that price. That won't be a Ranger. I wouldn't go Nissan, snappy snaps.
It's Mitsi or Isuzu, but the least rusty, probably with turbos done by now too, and ideally with some sort of evidence the oil has been changed at least on occasion.

We just bought this:

2011 mk6 2.5 HL3 manual, 90k miles, year MOT, four new wan-king ditchfinder XL’s and new discs/pads at the front. Paid £5k (advertised on fb marketplace, turned out to be a trader and that £5200 actually included VAT - result).
Not too rusty, bit crusty looking so we’ll give it a bloody good power wash, a bit of a rub down and paint it or under seal it depending on how bad it looks. Few rust spots on the tub.
Spent the day yesterday giving it a basic service, took the wind deflectors off which was a pain in the arse because they’ve been stuck on the outside of the doors with some super sticky tape stuff. Took off the horrible shiny metal bonnet bra, cheap s
tty screws had rusted solid so they needed drilled out.
Interior is actually really clean surprisingly and it drives really well.

That seems cheap, nice colour too
I had forgotten - until someone mentioned that the L200 could be driven on the road in four-wheel drive - that the rest of them can't, which negates a lot of their use for me
I think I asked a similar question 5 years ago and I'd forgotten that answer which is why I bought a V8 Jeep which is rear-wheel drive until it senses the need and switches to four-wheel drive seamlessly and it's fantastic in s

For the few times I need the pickup bed, I'll just use a trailer
I have discovered they do a pickup conversion kit for my Jeep, in the states but it's not cheap with shipping and I'd need an iva

As long as it's all tied in and strengthened it's fine Obviously it depends what you want but if like me, you want four-wheel drive that can be used on the road in slippery conditions, to tow a decent weight, comfort and a decent engine option - There really isn't much choice
If it was a UK conversion and I didn't need iva I'd have one in a shot
