Over the past few years I have bought a few good uns and some meh, cars.....
MGB roadster.....too tall, the top of the windscreen was mid eye height. Sold £7k
TVR Chimaera.....OK But I thought it looked like the above on steroids. Sold £9k
Boxster 3.2S.....was Ok drove lovely but just wasnt exciting. Bit bland. Sold £9k
TR7......I know, felt I wanted a bit my youth.....It was OK but speed is the king and it wasnt...Sold £6k

I now have a nice MB SLK R172 350. Goes like stink, not the fastest in acceleration but ok, Bit on the quiet side....and as I am now late ish 60's...suits you sir. Oh.

But I have a savings policy maturing soon and there could be a spare £15k in it. So with trade....maybe £12k, that'll give me around £25k ish to play with.

Must be a rag top, quick, maybe a bit different. Was thinking a Jag F type.......waddyathink....your ideas ....

If you like the SLK why not upgrade to an SLK55 AMG?

SLK55 is great fun.

F Type is heavier, smaller, slower, less well built but looks better.

Nice choice to make.

Audi TT S?

Go like STINK and rarely see the convertible.

There's a red one on AT for £24.5k (can't post the link as I'm too new!)

Id go for some theatre such as the 55 AMG as suggested or the F type if budget allows.

Have been waiting for you all day. V8 a bit OTT when the V6 S packs enough of a punch... AMG as I wrote. Too similar...

Prices of V6 / V8 's seem very similar? Why's that....Car tax is another £200 ish more for the bigger car. Colours? mmm White a bit too dangerous

I researched the F Type briefly and most say go for the V8 but id be happy with the V6 as it still makes an epic noise, it performs more than well enough too.
Im struggling to remember the negatives but think underside rust is an issue on them?

I DO like the look of the F type, I would go for the V6 S probably for all those extras?? .........Rust these days....better not. ( I have a 2003 old honda civic thats abused and theres next to zero rust or anything..)

Maybe £20-£25k would get me a real nice one......I WAS thinking a few years ago about the XK8, But maybe too big. I do like the size of the F......Dont need a bigger car...have an SUV for big st

my current car, same ish colour, a dark grey.... it does look nice. But maybe you can see why I wish to move away from an SL or SLK to something sharp like the V6 S maybe. Same with the Boxster look, been there.....

I do think the XK is the better looking car of the two, im still not sold on the F type rear end. I much prefer the coupe look personally.
