We’re both comming upto the milestone , so will go down to one car , we’re going to go diesel as want to travel a lot , days out / weekend away .
We both really like this , but I mostly read of them as company cars , so would they be a good idea as a private car ? .
Our other concern would be the tech , we not very tech savvy, daughters boyfriend sorts out computers / phones , so how difficult is the tech in them .
Thankyou

?? As above, have you linked the wrong car?

If not but you'd like a diesel, get a diesel.

If you fancy a Tesla, get a test drive, the one pedal driving is fantastic, but the tech/layout/seats etc are not for everyone

I'd rather a one way trip to Switzerland for the forever sleep, than end my driving days in a Tesla.

My brother in law has one and he's only in his late 30s. He loves it

I stopped working years ago, but won't get my State Pension until April so I'm sort of retired already!

I don't do many miles a year but both my cars are manual with straight 6 N/A petrol engines. Life's too short to get hung up on fuel consumption, and EVs just don't appeal for a fun car.

Wife and I are retired, our cars are a Mini JCW and a BMW M140. Maybe an EV in 10 years time!

The OP is obviously too busy tearing around in his new Bentley to reengage in the dialogue he started!

In answer to some of the questions ( I do agree not worded that well )
1. We were considering , set on a diesel for retirement , but saw the Tesla & me / wife both very much liked it , but reading on here most I believe are company cars so I was a bit unsure if a would be a good idea for private ownership / tech worried me
2. I presently own a 1.0 focus , spend my days driving around in diesel ( though it does have 530 hp ) at 56 mph so I’m not so sure it would be the down grade that most of you speak of .
3 when we reduce from 2 cars to 1 I will have a motorbike for pleasure , speed , etc , I’ve been in fast cars but they don’t compare to a 1,000 fireblade / r1 ( which I’ve both owned , so v8 / fast bmw etc doesn’t really interest me , though good luck to anyone who goes that route
Thankyou all for your advice , I will test drive one & see what are thoughts are , I think tech will be the reason we don’t buy , but will see .

Thankyou zx , I like the mercs but I wanted a car that lasted me for my retirement , don’t think I’d want 60/70 k miles , when we looked at Tesla there was a polestar / Renault which were both electric I believe but wife only liked Tesla , so if we go electric it would be a Tesla , diesel would be a kuga I think as we both got on well with one when we had a courtesy car .
I know kuga so need to have a drive in a Tesla , thanks again .
