Odd one. Sold a car before Xmas, money transferred from buyer with the promise he’d pick it up first week in Jan, and now he is totally off radar, not answering phone, messages, WhatsApp etc.

Any tips on what I do?

ETA: mods, if you think this would be better in SP&L please move?

Did you transfer the V5 + did you put his address to put on to the contract of sale?

Is it a £300 car or a £300 car? Did you agree to keep it tucked up in a garage, or is it a snotter on a driveway?

Weathers been pretty bad and roads covered in salt, if its an unusual / expensive / garage queen then you might understand his delay.

Lots of variables you havent disclosed.

It's a tricky one that has come up before on here.

Hopefully you have space enough to keep the car (SORN'd or whatever) and are not in a hurry as there is little practically you can do without being able to contact the buyer apart from keep trying.

How was the payment made? Is it possible to refund it if you don't hear back? If it were me and I had the space I'd keep trying for 3-6 months then sell it again. If you can refund without having contact then you could do that then. Or just keep hold of the money to be able to refund.

It’s a single seater race car. Last I heard he was arranging (covered) transport. Delay is fine, it’s the lack of response that is concerning me more. Might be ill, might be away etc. I’m more concerned about him than cross about the lack of comms by the way.

Ah, the mad world of racing cars! Patience is the thing I guess.
