Friend of the wife has a Seat Arona that I sourced for her a few years ago. 1.0 auto, she loves it but it's time for something newer, and she wants basically the same thing but a bit bigger.
I'm out of touch with all the models. What's the difference between a VW Taigo and a VW T-Roc size wise, and what are the Seat or Skoda equivalents of these two? Tiguan size is too big.

The arona is Ibiza size.
The T roc slightly bigger, more golf size, (and I think uses the golf platform because it’s got a EPB, where as stuff such as the A1 and Fabia all have manual parking brakes) is on a par with the Audi Q2, the tiago is the same size but with a sloped roof line over the boot
The arona is the same size as a Skoda kamiq and the T cross.
If she wants bigger but not Tiguan size that leaves the q2 and the T roc, and possibly the cupra formentor. There’s no seat in that class, it jumps from arona to alteca which is more the size of a Leon estate

One of my daughters has a Kamiq and it does seem bigger than the other two of its VW Group siblings - it’s used as their family car, with two rapidly growing children, as her husband drives her old Jazz.My wife has a Karoq and I think that’s quite a decent / handy size - I think it’s identical to SEAT Ateca. She had a mk1 Tiguan before but thought the mk2 was too big.
There is someone on here with Taigo and he seems happy with it - he’s elsewhere in Europe. I can’t recall ever seeing one in UK.
the other thing to mention is to check space in different parts of the car - we compared a lot of these being discussed and most of the VAG cars had a similar space with the seats down - but there were substantial differences in where that space was allocated and in particular between boot space and rear seat leg room - the Ateca was the most comfortable for 4 adults by a long way - and as that is something we do quite often it was important...
OK, all this is very confusing. If anyone can be bothered to take the time, can someone list all the SUV models for VW, Skoda & Seat from smallest to biggest, up to say Tiguan size.

I wouldn't know quite where Taigo fits, as someone else mentioned, it's a bit different to the other VW SUV's - I thought it was a bit lof a loss-leader / cheapy type car. VW alone have a Taigo, T Cross, T Roc, Tiguan, and maybe they have something smaller, an Arona alternative?

Otherwise you have the VWs and SEATs correcty.
Skoda is Kamiq, Karoq (same as Ateca - Ateca is made in the Skoda factory).
They each have a slightly longer wheelbase verion of Tiguan - what VW used to call Tiguan Allspace, but they're replacing that with Tayron. SEAT's is Tarraco and Skoda's is Kodiaq.
I thought everyone down south drove "premium" brands, so an earlier suggestion of Audi Q2 might be more appropriate?
