I20 vs Rio for a boring run about! Help....
Discussion
So after much deliberation I've landed on two cars that fit my needs. But can't decide between the two. I'm not looking for fun at the mo and financial issues press me to find lowest tax, ins and fuel economy a small petrol at £4k can buy. I'm looking at Rio in the SR7 or '2' trim and i20 se (though could stretch to a premium).
I've seen 2015/16, 1.2/1.25 models of both cars and from what I have learned the i20 and Rio are more or less the same under the skin. Both seem frugal, quiet and reasonably comfortable. However I'm hearing of issues with both too. The i20 seems to be rubbish to some regarding ICE and poor sound. Some only having speakers at the front of the car? My daughter wouldn't be happy with a particular awful sound system!
Regarding the Rio some are saying it develops rattles and suspension can be crashy? Is the sound system in the Rio any better?
So does anybody know much about or own these cars? any preference? Advice?
Appreciated!

Just sold a 2016 Kia Rio SR7 5 door 47 k miles (more than your 4k budget) only major expense was a new clutch which is a weakness on these and equivalent Hyundai, engine was good, ran like a sewing machine and all the extra bits on the SR7, rev sensors, a/c, elec windows etc all worked fine, if you change oil regular they're pretty bulletproof and the radio sounded fine as did bluetooth, would recommend.

Thanks for the advice I'm leaning towards the Kia. I don't know which engine to go for though. 1.25 or the 1.4. Both seem similar in mpg but 1.4 more power which i replace thought would be better for motorway?Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
