Can't make up my mind! Old vs new
Discussion
A few years back, I owned a used S-Class (2013 W221). I loved that car (despite it having multiple issues).
Back in 2018, I traded it for a Landrover Discovery (as I now had three kids and felt like I needed to be "sensible").
I never liked the Discovery - and regretted buying it. I then swapped that for an Audi Q7 which was nice, but coincided with Lockdown and was far too expensive to be paying when I was then told to work from home for nearly three years.
Swapped from the Q7 "down" to a BMW 520D. This was another nice car, but I've started to use this less and less after moving so felt like I needed to be sensible again and save some money. We have another "big" car (wife has a Disco Sport) which she loves, however, I prefer comfort and luxury.
I can't decide what's best to do to save money. Do I downgrade to a more basic runabout? Do I stick with what I have? Do I go fully-EV to try and save money?
Just to throw a spanner in the works - I can buy a 2013 S-Class (basically the car I loved and wish I had never sold), for around £7-9K with decent milage). This would still work out cheaper monthly than the BMW. BUT the downside will now be maintenance costs....
