I’ve recently been forced into a company car, which I hate.

I was forced to sell my beautiful 750i as at the time I was living in a flat with one parking space. I have since moved into a house with a garage, so looking to have a car I actually like. As a second car I don’t need to worry about practicality, boot space. running costs, etc. It’ll live in the garage and would be looking to keep it for quite a while. Age not important (although I did get used to ventilation seats, heating steering wheel, surround view etc) but low mileage and top spec. Budget up to £60k. Thinking at least 500bhp.

My only limitation is garage size. Max length 5m.

What would you buy?
What have I missed off my prospect list?

M5
Alpina B5 (I am prepared to wait for one)
M8
SL63 (not after a convertible really)
F Type V8

Rejected due to size.
M8 grand coupe
S Class coupe

A great list of cars to choose from. Is the AMG GT a possibility?

It could be. The hard top randomly doesn’t have ventilation seats, but the convertible does. Could be interesting to test vs the SL.
The 4 door version is a tad too long.

Thank you!

With that budget I will be looking at an Alfa Giulia Quad

If you find the GTS then heated seats are standard on the coupe.

Out of your choices the M5 is a weapon.

I would want something that (to me) feels more special than a 5 seater saloon. I would go for something low sling with 2 seats and a roof that comes off.

Additional cars to consider that meet your criteria:

Audi RS7 Performance - At 4.98m length, it just fits your garage. 621bhp, luxurious interior, and modern tech. The pre-facelift C8 models should be within budget.

Porsche Panamera Turbo - The first-gen (971) Turbo fits under 5m and offers 550bhp. Available with plenty of luxury features and should be within budget for a well-maintained example.

Maserati Quattroporte GTS - Around 4.97m, 523bhp, and incredibly characterful. The V8 sounds magnificent, and you can find low-mileage examples within budget.

Mercedes-AMG E63 S - Slightly less obvious than the M5 but equally capable with 612bhp. Similar size and luxury features to your criteria.

Lexus RC F - Shorter than your other options at 4.7m, and while "only" 471bhp, it's supremely reliable and has a wonderful naturally-aspirated V8.

M5 is incredible and as close to perfect a car as I’ve ever drove.

However £60k could certainly get you something that looks a bit more exotic.
