I imagine the residual value on them is going to be very poor to the point that even their GFV figures on the website may be optimistic.
I do think the Renault 5 is going to be a smash hit and i'm not even a fan of EV's particularly but if I was, or even in the market for a small hatch generally it would be high up on my list

I'm surprised.
So £12500, plus shipping to the UK (say £500), plus 10% import duty, plus 20% VAT brings it up to just over £17k, which is only a grand less than what they're currently being offered on AT. So looks like we're getting almost the home market price plus shipping and taxes.

Here is my interpretation of that... I think that the line item "Richmond Cash Price - £18,990.00" is poorly worded and you can't actually buy it for that in cash. What they mean is that is the "sticker price" after their discount.
It looks like you are actually paying £23,552.18 to have the car on PCP for 4 years with the option to pay £9679.50 at the end to keep it.
What doesn't seem to make sense to me is that the "Total amount payable" is £23,552.18 which is exactly the Total Interest (£4562.18) plus the £18,990.
The test would be to call them up and say "can I buy that in cash for £18,990 now" - I bet they say no.
It looks like you are actually paying £23,552.18 to have the car on PCP for 4 years with the option to pay £9679.50 at the end to keep it.

It’s a great little car for £19k but I still don’t think I’d put my money into one.

The thing with MG, they are cheap, however they have to be to enable any meaningful sales, sure 7 year warranty and all that however I only ever hear bad things when they go wrong, I see many people who can't wait to get shot of their MG as they have been pissed about massively when there has been an issue (which there seems to be frequently), whether it's the dealer or MG themselves.
Sure other manufacturers can be difficult at times, but I neve here it as universally as I do when it comes to MG.

Conversely, three of my colleagues have MG4s and all would recommend them. MG have an established network so I'd have hoped that parts / servicing / warranty issues should be acceptable. 
I know somebody who has a BYD. Nice enough car actually, but he hasn't had any faults yet.
Even my Honda eNy1 keeps deleting its own charging schedule and has thrown the odd 'power issues' warning that, like in an IT project go away if you turn it on and off again.
The My Honda App is often unable to connect, and one day when I was away from home 2 weeks ago, it consumed over 1GB of mobile data. 
It's getting a software update at the service next month, it needs it.

Exactly that, it took me over a year to get an airbag light fault sorted on my MG4. .
The whole experience has just left me cold to the MG brand and after 2 years I just want rid of the thing, my options are either keep it 2 years/or VT in a year or so and hand it back (but will have to cough up excess mileage) or just stomach the 5/6k loss and chop it in which is what I’ll probably do as want something more suitable for family trips away. I had to laugh when the dealer rang me to say most people think about rolling into another pcp about now… and yes I probably would have done in the past but it’s the first time I’ve had a car that’s plummeted so much in value from the 25995 list I paid. It’s GFV is 14150 in 2 years. Not sure how they worked that out it’s worth 12 now tops.
Can’t decide if a lease would be better for me next time.

No, I was too slow, even though I rang up the next morning after seeing the offer on here. The black ones had all gone; I was offered a white one for £211, oh go on then. I was away in Spain when the Brindley 2yrs at £179 was mentioned the week before. By the time I'd read about it catching up on my phone on the hotelmWifi they'd all gone. They're getting it for the service though, Chiswick is a long way from me.
Th GFV of the eNy1 is £26k after 3 years....

There is an app which allows you to preheat however you can't set it for a certain time. You have to select it just before you need it and the climate control works for 10 mins.
