My wife's lease car is going back at the end of April and we've decided not to get another lease.
hoping to buy used at around £12k and up to 5 years old and then just run it until the scrap man takes it away!

So, she only has an auto licence so obviously needs an automatic and she is used to Nissan as her current car is a qashqai so:

I was looking at a 21 plate Micra but then a 21 plate Nissan leaf popped up.
Her annual mileage is about 8k with no motorway driving at all so the leaf would fit her lifestyle.

anyone have any other ideas at something I should consider?
the £12k will be a loan if that makes any difference

The id3 isn't great, VW accountants have taken over so quality is poor (hence the brand languishing towards the bottom of reliability charts). The mx30 is just crap, has no redeeming features other than being reliable. Never driven or even sat in a mokka EV, but the ICE car isnt grear .

The leaf is a lot of car for the money, they've suffered horrific depreciation.

If you were looking an a £12k ICE car, you could bump budget up to £15k for an EV and still be better off financially at 8k miles over 3 years or more.

Id consider a Honda E

There's also the ds3, I don't know much about them, but Stellantis stuff is usually a bit st.

Nissan Leaf should be spot on but I’d consider the Renault Zoe as well.

In all honesty I find the Nissan Qashqai pretty decent all round and you’d get a 2020 in your budget.

If you are going to increase your budget for a used EV I’d just advise going the Tesla Model 3. It’s just simply a better car in nearly every area than those listed by a considerable margin.

I’d get one of these , I wish they’d of had one in at this price when I got my focus from them for a bit less .

What about something like an auto Mini? Great little cars, especially in an auto.
