Car buying scams

Had a dealer contact me regarding putting a deposit on my car that I have for sale which he will collect at a date in the future and we agreed a price, is there a scam of me giving him my account and sort code as I cant find any record of his garage existing? Wants to pay cash but i said that will have to be at a bank so that should be ok. So many scams out there thought id check?
