Time for a change of cars and I'm hoping to go down to 1. Currently have a little city runaround (Citigo) and a big old Mitsubishi 4x4. Really need to have the 4x4 for towing for the wife's hobby. Light off road, farm tracks, not particularly heavy trailer. Really like the convenience of the Citigo too but it's a bit small now we have a dog. Looking for something that might be able to do everything,:

Not huge, still need to park in the city.
Room inside for dogs or bikes (like taller boxy cars)
4x4 that can tow a trailer
Ok fuel consumption. Doesn't need to be mega but not terrible.
Ulez compliant
Change from £10k

A look around and maybe one of the later Skoda Yetis might work. Any other options?

2 posts in 253 months. Top lurking hehe

I had a Suzuki SX4 Grip that was a good tool. What about the slightly bigger & newer SX4 S-Cross?

Never driven one, but the SX4 was a cracking little tool.

Assuming they make a 4 wheel drive version? (SX4 stands for 4 seasons I reckon)

How heavy a trailer, that might limit how small you can go?

Is a Panda 4x4 big enough? If not the Dacia Duster gets a lot of love on here

Have a look at the Suzuki Vitara too - cracking 1.4 turbo petrol on older models, not exactly big but can carry stuff. Just not as much as an E Class estate.

Has the awd stuff but also comes with electronic diff type thing, and is a hoot to drive.

When I was read your post my first thought was in agreement with yourself for a 4x4 Yeti, its the ultimate do-it-all car, although as mentioned elsewhere it may depend on how big/heavy the trailer (and load) is.

A4 Allroad / Octavia Scout or something like a previous shape Volvo XC60 are a couple of alternatives.

Thanks all. Some interesting options to look at. Funnily enough sat in traffic on the motorway and seen a few of them (wife has already said no to a couple smile )

Trailer is about 900-1000kg so I think most things will pull it ok.

I was forgetting that for a few years I had a CRV 4x4 it was a pretty decent car. Was the 2007 2.2cdti but at your budget you'd be looking at a much newer one.
