Afternoon needs must and its come to the stage where i've up ended needing a cheapish van, i've got about 3k to spend in my eyes a vito seems to be the best thing for the price, Im looking at older than a 2010 mainly to avoid the om651 tpms etc.

Anyone run one on here? any om646 owners here? what are they like to work on? i run a pd130 golf at the minute which you could fix with a coat hanger tbf haha.. I know rust is an issue with merc vans of this era but i have a welder!

Cheers!

Just checked on the Gov MOT site, and my old 2007 Vito is still running on over 250,000 miles !

Don't the older of these get a bit rusty? Thought these and the next size up often looked a bit orange round the edges.

IMHO, the contemporary rivals are just all-round better.

Had one back in around 2007-2008 from memory when I was racing bikes. It got me to every race track in the UK and Assen in the Netherlands, only thing that I recall failing was one of the front springs collapsed suddenly.

Probably had 70-80K on it back then also.

Never owned one, but hired the passenger version in the Canaries a few years ago. Following year we hired the VW equivalent.
The Vito was much nicer to drive, once I got the hang of the "handbrake".
