I want to change back to a GTI, was looking for a manual to start with (approved used), but they are thin on the ground & getting one in a decent colour that isn't a million miles away is pretty hard...

So it now looks like it will be DSG, so considering a Mk8 Clubsport or Mk8.5 GTI.

Clubsport - Pro's - more power, sharper handling, nicer trim in & out. Con's - Haptic buttons & a tardy interface, heard it's a bit noisey compared to a regular GTI.

GTI - Pro's - hp up to 265, looks better than Mk8, real buttons & a speedier, more responsive interface. Con's - it's not a Clubsport.

Anyone any experience of both?

Thanks.

Clubsport for me all day long.

Touchscreen and haptic feedback buttons are massively overplayed especially on here. Palm of my hand did touch the haptic feedback buttons a few times when driven hard but quickly adjusted.

End of the day you are buying a car not a touchscreen.

Kings Red looks brilliant in the flesh as a colour recommendation.

Depends on the year as the early mk8s had the steering wheel module/front assist issue which seems to keep reoccurring even after replacement and out of warranty can be an expensive fix!

I have a Mk8 GTI Clubsport, it's excellent.

I've also driven the Mk8.5 GTI, and I'd say it's a bit better built, and with much improved infotainment.

The Clubsport to it's advantage has more power, bigger front discs, lowered suspension, and various other suspension tweaks.

Thanks.

This kinda sums up what I had thought, infotainment not a bad as when it 1st appeared & Clubsport worth the extra. Vehicle would sill be in warranty, Clubsport ~23 plate, GTI 24.
