Utterly pointless advert pics
Discussion
The picture is what I'd expect to see on an advert, maybe not it sitting at 4k but chances are the person who took it is revving it?
The picture is showing EML on so you cant say you weren't aware of it when you turn up.
I'd say the useless thing, is this post.

That's not the EML - that's the Traction Control light The picture is showing EML on so you cant say you weren't aware of it when you turn up.

I’d rather that kind of photo than 80 random almost identical shots of the left hand side of the car, taken at 1 degree increments.
Nnnng, this! And then two blurry pictures of the interior. In the above pic, there is a rather pleasing symmetry about the total mileage and the trip counter.

Lots of poor trade ads out there. Worst are those using several ‘frames’ to extol their own garage, often followed by ads for warranty cover. Then we have those who consider many ( poor/ out of focus ( no pun intended) shots are more persuasive than about 8 good ones. That’s all you need. In the case of a known and familiar car ,that should do to secure a viewing.
Not quite an utterly pointless picture but I've noticed quite a few "dealers" recently haven't even washed the car before taking the picture. That is just pure laziness and I would never buy a car off someone who can't be bothered to wash it.
The Ai generated descriptions annoy me too.

One of the chains (well known Ford and Vauxhall dealers, may have been a subsidiary of writing implement and a mythical Welsh creature) appeared to have a policy at one point of photographing trade ins in their as-acquired condition then taking more photos after they’d been prepped. On one hand I guess it’s honest about the condition the car was received in, but it doesn’t exactly help sell. I remember one case of a B-Max or similar being listed with a boot full of mud that looked like it had been used to transport packs of dogs for years. I suppose it gets the ad online for some arbitrary KPI, but just seemed completely counter productive. The Ai generated descriptions annoy me too.
I also get annoyed by frames being used for the warranty offer, opening hours, number of years in business etc. it’s the car I’m interested in, the description of the dealer can go in the text.

Spooling through car ads, as you do, you inevitably come across a completely pointless photo.
Example being this, for a lovely boston green E36 323i saloon (unfortunately automatic)

Why? is it telling us it has a sometime sticky throttle cable and idles at 4000 rpm?
Look at the odo, the reason for taking the pic is obvious but why you would choose to include it in the add is indeed a mystery!Example being this, for a lovely boston green E36 323i saloon (unfortunately automatic)
