Hi guys

I am currently looking for a new car and was considering a cayman/Boxster GTS 4.0 but for similar money I could go for a slightly older Porsche 911.

What are your thoughts between the 2.

I know some have switched from a 911 to the GTS but is there any particular reason you would choose one over the other?

I could buy the GTS now and then keep it for a while before switching to a 911.

That sounds like a great plan, The GTS Boxster will sound amazing with the roof down, I assume it comes with sports exhaust (not completely sure on specs. I know GTS spec. usually includes a lot!).

Test drive both obviously.

I went 997.2 C4S coupe to 981 Spyder 5 years ago and haven’t regretted it a bit. Love the mid engine dynamics and roof down ability, and looks. I’d have a 911 over a cayman though regardless of how well they drive.

I love the idea of having a convertible. Do you use the feature often?

Any drawback of having a cab?

For me the Boxster looks more fun at times but the shape of the cayman looks better with the roof on. Agree the 911 looks great in comparison to the cayman. For me the inside of the 911 also looks a little bit more ahead than the cayman.

It's very cosy in there but the 911 does (squish) seat rear passengers if there ever was a need.

Those rear seats wouldn’t fit a grown man. Maybe a young child but other than that it’s just storage really isn’t it
