Hi, what is the opinion here on the Audi RS4 B8 is it a worthy compromise over a B7 are running costs similar The B7 still ticks lots of boxes but hard to find a genuine one these days with sensible miles.

Coincidentally the B8.5 RS4 is my car you ve been obsessing about the last 2 weeks. Very reasonably priced at the minute for good examples!

Typically they suffer from the same stuff as the B7 from what I ve read.

DRC issues, carbon build up, gearbox failures.

Think the DRC, when they go, some people usually go aftermarket and be done away with it. Not sure if they re more frequent than the B7 was though!

Carbon build up is a given over time, but you can have them blasted and cleaned out. Proper careful owners will of likely had that done!

Can’t comment on the transmission failures but the mechatronic unit seems to be a point of failure.

Like with all things, you only read bad reviews when stuff fails. Nobody jumps on to review just how good the components of their car are doing!

Just make sure, if you buy one, you get it with the silver trim wink

All stuff I’ve read, not personal experience
