Hello!

I'm interested in purchasing a 2022 Kia Proceed 1.6 GT which clocks in at 89,000. It's up for £12,900, which is £4-5k less than similar models with lower mileage, understandably. It appears to be in great condition.

I've never purchased a car above 40k miles before and some relatives swear against higher mileage but surely with it being a 2022, 30,000 miles per year are predominantly motorway?! The warranty runs for another 4 year too so it's a no brainer?

I suppose I'm just looking for some reassurance as it is unknown territory for me and even though I know high mileage isn't a particular problem these days I still doubt myself!

If anyone has any insight or personal experience with higher mileage Kias I would appreciate it tremendously.

Thanks in advance.

Just make sure the servicing history is complete, otherwise the balance of the 7 year warranty won't apply.

If it's not been serviced by Kia then you'll need proof that genuine Kia parts were used.

Kia are very strict on this.

Otherwise, very nice cars.

Agree with the above, Kia very strict about warranty, and have 10k mile service intervals, so make sure has been serviced on time, and ideally at a Kia dealer, or if outside network has had Kia parts used. Also, I think Kia's warranty runs until 100k miles, so something to consider. I know in it's previous ownership mine had a service at a Vauxhall dealer, who didn't write down the oil type used, so Kia told me if I have engine problems they might not be covered, but other issues would be, and have been covered, and 40k miles since that service with no issues, I'm not too worried about the engine blowing up (touch wood).

I've got a 2021 Ceed hatchback, not quite a high mileage example at 50k miles, but it's a pleasant enough car, does everything right, but is dull. Proceed looks nicer, and I sometimes think about changing mine for a Proceed GT. Coming from an Astra to the Ceed, I did notice a big drop in interior quality and refinement, but it's still perfectly acceptable, the only real complaint I have with the car is the poor sound system (the Astra did have particularly good speakers for the class), I think the GT has a JBL system so should be better.

Mines been reliable, apart from a couple of small electrical issues; one of the LED DRLs stopped working, and the horn stopped working, both fixed under warranty.

Servicing at Kia tends to be fairly expensive for the class of car, major services are £550+, and minor services aren't so bad at £250 or so, with a 10k mile service interval it can add up.

Thank you for the feedback, it is appreciated!

I'll definitely be vigilant with regards to the service history/warranty, solid advice.

So if it has a 10,000 mile service interval, does that mean that it needs to have had 8 services to have a valid warranty?

Motorway...... Maintainance?

There is deffo a thread somewhere with what to look out for, things like black door handles on white cars rings a bells and on Kia's.
