After the X3 purchase turned into a horror story / lucky escape

I am wondering what are Evoque's like, looking at the 2.2 as that seems to be the most common

The earlier engines are the more desirable but will be getting on a bit now, avoid the Ingneum.

But if you want reliable you need to be looking at Lexus or Toyota.

We had a 2.2 Evoque HSE a couple of years ago, we kept it for a year and didn't have any problems with it.
We sold it to a 4x4 specialist, who bought it from us via an Autotrader ad. When I spoke with him, his only comment was that they wouldn't touch the 2.0 Ingenium engine ones as its too much of a risk to their reputation.

As long as you aren't concerned re ULEZ I'd certainly go for it, although make sure the cambelt has been changed, from memory its either 8 or 9 years.

I've had a 2.2 for a few years and we went with the simplest version for reliability, 2wd spring suspension 2.2ed4 with no adblue systems. Had dpf issue that cost 300 to permanently fix but hasnt had any problems and it's a nice place to be. I use it off road regularly and it goes well for 2wd and the engine is pretty pokey for a small diesel. Getting 37.1mpg ave.

Boot is smaller than expected. Get one loaded with options as cameras, auto lights etc were all options so many dont have them. Dont even consider a 2.0 diesel at any price.
