I m currently contemplating moving from my F12 M6 as it s just too fast for me to reasonably enjoy.

Here are the requirements:

  • £20k ish budget. Maybe a bit more depending on the car.
  • Needs to be fun on B roads but on occasion do a good 200 mile round trip without it killing me
  • Not be too fast. I want to actually enjoy driving it without hitting the speed limit so quick
  • 4 seats, technically 3 for the wife and 8 year old
  • Needs to sound good
Now, the M6 is rare, looks fantastic and is a good cruiser so nice for the long trips. However it s a bit boring to drive really as it s too fast to enjoy and doesn t really sound that great.

I m considering:
  • MINI F56 JCW - Had one before and like the feel around the B roads. Not the worst on long trips. Sounds good with the pro exhaust (albeit chavvy, pop pop pop!}
  • i20N, i30N - Are apparently very fun but don t love the looks

Previous cars:
  • R56 JCW
  • F56 JCW
  • S2000
  • Z4 3.0 Coupe
  • M135i
  • Golf R
  • GT86
  • 981 Cayman S
  • KIA Stinger GTS
  • F Type v8
  • M6
  • ND2 MX5
Sort of looking for something like a 4 seater mx5 which sounds good! This will be my second car so not fussed about running costs etc, I have a Tesla model 3 perf for family duties.

+1 for the Giulia Veloce, but get one with a Q2 badge (LSD + adaptive dampers) if you can like this:
